News Taxonomy

Main content start

The News Type vocabulary gives you the ability to organize and categorize your news content. This vocabulary include a number of useful terms by default (Announcements, Awards, Faculty, In the News, Staff, and Students), and site managers have the ability to add, edit, or delete these terms.

Once terms have been added to the News Type vocabulary, they can be applied to a News node page.

Once a term has been added to a news item, the item will be categorized within that term's related News Topics List Page. In this example, an article labeled as a “Blog” " would be included in the news list results page under “Blog” at [your site url]/news/Blog. All of the News Type list pages can be accessed through the News Topics Menu, or by clicking on the terms themselves when displayed within the list page teaser and at the top/bottom of the article pages.

News Type terms can also be used as arguments within the Lists paragraph, which will allow you to create organized lists of publications on any page. See Lists for more information.
