Event Series

Event Series can be used to create a collection of events to display on your website. To see a listing of all the Event Series on your site, visit  [your site url]/event-series.

Create an event series

Previously created events that are added to an Event Series will display on that Event Series' page. Go to the Individual Events and Events Importer pages to learn more about adding or importing events.

  1. In the Administrative Toolbar, select Manage (if needed), then hover over All Content > Add Content and click Event Series.
  2. Add required Title.
  3. Add editorial content (Type, Subheadline and Dek) as desired, which will be displayed on the All Events Series page (i.e. [your site url]/event-series).
  4. Adjust Display Order Weight if desired to change the order the Event Series item appears on Event list pages.
  5. Add Body Content as desired. This content will be displayed on your Event Series page, above the Event Item listings. 
  6. To add Events in this Series, begin typing the name of a previously created event in the text input under the Event Item column, a dropdown will appear and you can select the desired event.
  7. To add additional events, click Add another item.
  8. At the bottom of the page, check the box next to “Published” to have the Event Series published, or uncheck to make the series unpublished.
  9. Click Save.

Edit an Event Series

  1. In the Administrative Toolbar, select Manage (if needed), then click All Content.
  2. In the filter section, click on the arrow under Content type and select Event Series.
  3. Click Filter to show a list of all Event Series created using the Event Series content type.
  4. Find the Event Series you are trying to edit, and click on the Edit button that appears on the same line as that Event Series.
  5. Edit Event Series details as desired.
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Delete an Event Series

  1. In the Administrative Toolbar, select Manage (if needed), then click All Content.
  2. In the filter section, click on the arrow under Content type and select Event Series.
  3. Click Filter to show a list of all Event Series created using the Event Series content type.
  4. Find the Event Series you are trying to delete, and click on the arrow icon next to the Edit button that appears on the same line as that Event Series.
  5. Click Delete.
  6. A second delete confirmation will appear. To confirm deletion, click Delete.

Publish/Unpublish an Event Series

Event Series can be marked as published or unpublished. If an Event Series is marked unpublished, it will not display, but its related individual events will still display if they are marked published. For instructions on publishing/unpublishing an individual event, see the Individual Events page.

Publish/Unpublish an Event Series via the Event Series edit page

  1. At the bottom of the Event Series edit page, check the box next to “Published” to have the Event Series published, or uncheck to make the Event Series unpublished.
  2. Click Save.​

Publish/Unpublish an Event Series via the administrative toolbar

  1. In the Administrative Toolbar, select Manage (if needed), then click All Content.
  2. In the filter section, click on the arrow under Content type and select Event Series.
  3. Click Filter to show a list of all Event Series created using the Event Series content type.
  4. Check the box to the left of the Event Series title for each of the Event Series that you are trying to publish/unpublish.
  5.  Click on the box under the Action section, and select Unpublish selected content or Publish selected content.
  6. Click Apply to selected items.

Add Event Series to a Menu

You can add Event Series to a menu. For instructions, see Add Basic page to the main menu navigation (designed for Basic Pages, but works for Event Series as well).
