The Stanford Sites News feature can be used to create a vibrant and active news or blog on your site, add important announcements, share the impact of individuals or research, or highlight press and media coverage. This guide covers everything you need to know about creating individual news items, showing lists or teasers to news on other pages, creating filtered or unfiltered lists of news, and more.

Individual News Stories

News comes in different forms. To give you some flexibility, there are two options for displaying individual news stories on your site. You can use one or both. 

Tags and Categories for News

If you have more than one kind of news on your site, tagging your News or Spotlights can help you add relevant news to the pages on your site, create filters that site visitors can interact with, and provide pathways for site visitors to explore similar news items. The News Types vocabulary gives you the ability to organize and categorize your news content.
Shared Tags are terms that can be applied to any content on your site.

News Lists

Add recent news articles to your homepage, create lists of news based on topics. use our pre-built filtered News page to provide a list of News with a single filter, or create a filtered view of Spotlights.

Lists Paragraph Icon
The Lists Paragraph provides the ability to dynamically generate a list of content.
The News List Page is a dynamically generated page that shows your news items, sorted by most recent.

Stanford Sites provides an RSS feed of news items
