Stanford Sites does not provide a streaming platform for video. We do not allow uploads of video files to the Media Library. We recommend you use YouTube, Vimeo, or the Stanford Digital Repository.
If your site is an intranet and you wish to keep the video files private, you can also consider embedding them from Google Drive or take advantage of privacy settings on a commercial streaming platform.
Usually all you need to provide is the URL of the video on YouTube or Video. The only case where you would want to use an embed code from one of those services is if you are trying to add a playlist to your site.
