Lists and Filtered Lists
Stanford Sites has three different ways to create lists of content. Each is designed to allow you to create ways for site visitors to discover and interact with the information on your site. Use lists to feature news items and upcoming events on your home page, list people by research area, create a filterable list of publications by topic, and more!
Once your lists are set up, they will automatically update with your new content, which makes managing things like an "All News" page a breeze! All three of our list options can be used together with categories (also called Taxonomy) you create. For example, you could create lists of people in categories like "Faculty," "Fellows," and "Graduate Students," or "Physics," "Chemistry," etc.
This guide gives an overview of the three types of lists and links to learn more.
Lists Paragraph
The Lists Paragraph can be used to show a simple list of all of your News, Event, People, Course, Opportunities, and Publication content on nearly any page on your site. Common uses include showing upcoming events on your home page, listing people on a project page, and displaying publications on a research page.
Lists Paragraphs are very flexible. They can be used in one, two, and three column displays on any page that has a Paragraphs field. Site authors can choose to show all content or only content filtered by one or more categories. Site authors can also control the number of content items displayed. Some content lists have multiple display options, like a simple list or a grid of cards.

Get up and running with a news page with topic filters, allow site visitors to browse publications by topic and more. Stanford Sites come with five pre-built filtered list pages. They list all content of one type (News, Events, People, Courses, Publications) and feature a sidebar filter with a single list of categories. While these pages have a built-in sidebar filter and a list of content, they are Basic Pages, and they can be edited and placed in the menu in all the same ways as other Basic Pages.
When a visitor clicks on one of the filters in the sidebar, it will take them to a list of everything tagged with the same category. While these pages are not editable, they each have a unique path that can be referenced in links and placed in the menu with a custom menu link.
