Add Anchor Navigation
Anchor navigation enables users to quickly move to specific sections within a web page by clicking on designated links. This is particularly helpful for pages with extensive content, like FAQs, documentation, or articles. This guide will equip you with everything you need to make the most of anchor navigation.
Anchor Navigation is only available on Basic Page and is only available to Site Managers.
What is Anchor Navigation?
Anchor Navigation is used to create in-page navigation to the major sections of a page. Anchor Navigation is made up of links that are sometimes called jump links, anchor links, page anchors, or in-page links. When visitors click on a link in the Anchor Navigation, they "jump" down to the corresponding section of the page.
The Anchor Navigation features automatically creates these links from everything with a Heading 2 on your page. This includes:
- All Heading 2s in the Body field
- All Heading 2s in Text Area paragraphs
- All Heading 2s in Cards, Banners, Teasers, Lists, and any other paragraph element that contains a Heading 2.
When to use Anchor Navigation
Anchor Navigation is best used on lengthy, text-heavy pages. It is also effective as a navigation method for a single-page site.

Not at this time. Anchor Navigation is designed to make creating an automatic list of links to the major sections of your page easy.
If you don't see the Anchor Navigation appear on your page, you may not have any Heading 2s in your content. Check your content. This can include:
- Checking the heading levels in the Body and any Text Area paragraphs
- Checking the heading levels selected in any Card or Teaser paragraphs
We have not tested Anchor Navigation with all possible Section options, so you may get some unexpected results. We recommend you use your best judgement. We may refine the visual appearance of this feature in a future release.
